2024 Columbia Valley Grenache

2024 Columbia Valley Grenache
A blend of own-rooted Grenache from Sagemoor vineyard (planted 2012), Boushey vineyard (planted 2003) and Stillwater Creek vineyard (planted 2004). Individually hand-picked, destemmed and fermented in open top bins, each pressed at dryness, free run and press wine combined, raised in neutral French oak barrels. Bottled without fining or filtration in the summer of 2025 under TCA free corks in American-made glass.
Tasting Notes and Suggested Wine Pairing
Blood orange, raspberry, roasted rhubarb and pink peppercorn.
In the summer I love it with a slight chill on it paired with grilled salmon and a super mustardy lentil salad with herbs in the backyard. In the fall it’s great with roasted kabocha squash risotto, wintertime French onion soup.
ORR Grenache, Columbia Valley 2024
Destemmed and fermented in open-top bins, the 2024 Orr Grenache from the Columbia Valley spent 10 days on skins and 10 months in old French oak, then went to bottle without fining or filtration. Raspberry and wild strawberry start things out, with peony and kumquat zest following. There is a dusty undertow that keeps the fruit from turning sweet. Soft on entry and silken through the middle, it is dense without being heavy, and the finish stays cool. 284 cases produced.
