A classic style made for the modern table
Hand-harvested from Roza Hills, Upland and Holmason vineyards, this fresh, dry, 100% Chenin blanc was fermented naturally with native yeast and aged in neutral French oak barrels and stainless steel drums. It was bentonite fined and sterile filtered before bottling this spring. 392 cases produced
Royal Slope Grenache
A blend of own-rooted Grenache from Stillwater Creek vineyard (planted 2004) and Lawrence vineyards Corfu Crossing (planted 2008). Individually hand-picked, destemmed and fermented in open top bins, each pressed at dryness, free run and press wine combined, raised in neutral French oak barrels. Bottled without fining or filtration in the summer of 2024 under TCA free corks in American-made glass.
2023 Orr Wines ‘Royal Slope’ Grenache- The 2023 ‘Royal Slope’ Grenache is soft, approachable and mineral-laden on the tongue. Gorgeous red fruits mingle well with red rose water, Mandarin orange zest and shades of salty soils on the palate. Really delicious and dense with a refined mouthfeel, enjoy now and over the next decade. Drink 2025-2035- 93 points Owen Bargreen
2023 Orr Wines ‘Royal Slope’ Grenache- The 2023 Orr Royal Slope Grenache delivers a graceful yet layered expression, marked by its balance of fruit and earth. Aromas of wild strawberry, pomegranate, and dried hibiscus drift upward, framed by subtle citrus peel and stony undertones. On the palate, it glides with supple textures, weaving together red cherry, blood orange, and hints of a savory mineral character. The finish is elegant and long-lasting. 93 points International Wine Report
The Orr Columbia Valley Salumeria blend is 48% Stillwater Creek Cabernet Sauvignon clone 191 with 44% Boushey Sangiovese and 8% Stillwater Creek Merlot. Individually hand-picked, destemmed and fermented separately in open top bins with gentle punchdowns. Delicately pressed, the blend was aged in experienced French oak barrels for 10 months and bottled without fining or filtration in American-made glass under TCA free corks. Salumeria is the Italian word for deli - the shop where you’d buy salami and prosciutto.
2023 Orr Wines ‘Salumeria’ Red Wine- The really good 2023 ‘Salumeria’ combines Cabernet Sauvignon (48%) with Sangiovese (44%) and a small portion of Merlot coming from the Stillwater Creek Vineyard. It is bright and juicy with refined tannins and serious acidity on the palate. Loads of pretty red fruits parade with Satsuma orange zest and hints of white pepper on the palate, alongside damp soil accents. Drink 2025-2033- 93 points Owen Bargreen
2023 Orr Wines ‘Salumeria’ Red Wine- This distinctive Columbia Valley blend unveils a stunning medium-dark purple-ruby core, framed by a radiant red rim. Aromas of ripe dark cherries and lush blue plums intermingle with dried Mediterranean herbs and a whisper of violet, creating an alluring bouquet. The palate is medium-bodied with a lively texture, showcasing vibrant acidity and crunchy tannins that bring freshness to each sip. The finish is long and savory, practically begging to be paired with a selection of cured meats and aged cheeses. 92 points International Wine Report
